THE WANDERLIST [50-41]
So I’ve had this idea for a while now which will combine my love for film and also my ambition to travel far and wide. You will all have heard of the traditional bucket list, so I’ve decided to create my own. The aim is for me to tick off items on my list and whilst doing so, capture them on video and upload daily vlogs/blogs via my Youtube channel and on here. Some will take a while to complete, but others could be quickly accomplished. I don’t expect to tick them all off but I’d love to try and I reckon you’d love to come along for the ride.
SO, here are the first 10 on my list, you can check on my progress at any time via the ‘Wanderlist‘ page at the top of the site. They aren’t in any order, just the order that I wrote them down.
Drink a pint of Guinness at the Guinness factory in Dublin
I’ve been wanting to visit Dublin for a while now, and since there is always time for a pint or two, a trip to the Guinness factory is hard to turn down. I’m not necessarily the biggest fan of Guinness but I do drink it from time to time.
Swim with manatees in Florida
So ever since I visited Orlando last year and realised that they have manatees in the area surrounding the Kennedy Space Centre, I have kind of become a fan of the animal. They are funny looking and just pretty awesome in all aspects. I then found out that you can swim with them in a river in Florida. So it’s now on my list.
Swim in the Blue Lagoon in Iceland
This has been a dream of mine for quite a while. Iceland as a country fascinates me and I’m sure a visit is on the cards in the near future. This is one of the top attractions in Iceland and it’s definitely on my wanderlist. There is just something about the hot water in a cold environment.
Attend a high school football game in Texas
I’ve been a fan of American Football for a few years, and my favourite series of all time is ‘Friday Night Lights’. Visiting Texas is on my list anyway, and whilst I’m there I want to take in the atmosphere of a high school football game on a Friday Night. The whole town seems to turn out for these games and I’d like to be a part of that community for just a moment.
Skydive over Dubai
I saw someone do this recently and thats why its on my list. I’ve never really thought about doing skydiving and the bit where you sit on the edge of the plane terrifies me but I feel like this would conquer a fear and what better place to do it that over Dubai. I’d love to see the city from above.
Go Ice Skating in Central Park
I’m a big fan of ice skating, and although I’m not the greatest I can get by and I love to do it. Now we often only have indoor ice rinks in England, and it’s just not the same as an outdoor rink (I’ve been on one in Cologne) I’ve always seen them skating in Central Park in movies and I’ve wanted to join in the festivities and fun one year.
Swim in the Swimming Pool at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore
I’ve visited Singapore before and look at this pool from the outside. My Mum has been in the pool here and said it was amazing. Since then, I’ve decided I want to try it. I do love an infinity pool and there seems to be no better one than on top of a cruise ship on top of a huge hotel (sounds weird huh?) Nevertheless it’s on my list.
Visit the Burj Khalifa
Another one for Dubai is to visit the top of the Burj Khalifa. I’d love to witness a sunset at the top of the viewing deck and just take in the beauty of Dubai at night. Something special about being that high up whilst sipping on a cocktail.
Go and see the Northern Lights
I’m sure this is on everyones bucket list and it’s definitely on mine. This natural phenomenon is something that I want to witness first hand. It’s a photographers dream and I’d love to film it if I could. No reason really needed, it’s just beautiful.
Experience La Tomatina
This festival in Spain is something that has always intrigued me. A festival where everyone throws tomatoes at each other for fun. What more could you want? I wouldn’t mind throwing some tomatoes at some people that’s for sure. I don’t even really like tomatoes that much.
